Newly published

The latest issue of Work Organisation, Labour and Globalisation is now published. Edited by Ursula Huws, this collection brings together articles examining the changing dynamics of the global division of labour from Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and North and South America. One interesting finding is the growing importance of Eastern European workers, both as migrant workers and, on their home territories as a source of manual and non-manual labour for companies based in the USA, Asia and Western Europe. Another group of articles focuses on what happens to workers who are left behind when their jobs are moved overseas, illustrating a pronounced tendency for secure and permanent jobs to be replaced by temporary and precarious ones.
